About

Hey, I’m Miranda.

I’m a writer, editor, and blogger from Houston, Texas, and I’m also the girl behind The Good Groupie.

And, to be honest, I’m rediscovering what that means.

I spent a lot of my time in my early 20s following bands on tour, making friends with like-minded girls, and obsessing over lyrics I loved. At 25, I started The Good Groupie as a way to document my travels and explore my love of music.

In short, music was my everything.

Until it wasn’t.

Sometime in 2016, I fell out of love with music—or more specifically, with music blogging—and in love with another interest…Halloween. I put The Good Groupie on hiatus and put my creativity to work exploring my favorite holiday. It’s been a blast, but over time I’ve found myself missing the magic of music.

So here we are. As a girl who has loved music since age 7 (The Beach Boys were my first favorite band) and who has hung around the live music world for more than a decade, I’ve learned a few things. As I continue The Good Groupie, I hope to impart some of my Penny Lane-esque wisdom while sharing the music I’m digging and what it means to be a 30-something music fan.

When I’m not busy being The Good Groupie, you’re likely to find me over at Spooky Little Halloween celebrating October 31st all year long. (No, really. ALL year long.) I’m an avid reader who basically lives in a library masquerading as an apartment. I’m also a Gilmore Girls aficionado with a Gilmorism at the ready for any situation.

I’ve totally become one of those people who asks for your zodiac sign because it helps me better understand who you are. I love football and was raised a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. And I balance out my addiction to binging TV shows, like all the Real Housewives franchises, with my addiction to knitting.

When I’m not doing all these things, I spend my days working as a content manager for the national office of a nonprofit I’m passionate about.

Keep up the adventure. You can keep up with me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, or you’re welcome to drop me a line anytime.
